​On April 20th, the SOFE’s project of "Development and Application of Key Equipment for Safe and High-Efficiency Drilling in Ultra-Deep Wells" passed the technical achievement appraisal of Sinopec Corporation. Experts from the appraisal committee agreed that the project has clear research ideas, reasonable routes, good application effects, and meets appraisal and archiving requirements, and the overall project results have reached the international advanced level.

During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, SOFE focused on deep oil and gas well exploration and development, conforms to the development trend of oil and gas equipment mechanization, automation, informatization, and intelligence, strengthens the cooperation between "Production, Study, Research and Application", and launches scientific and technological research. An important breakthrough has been made in high, secure and efficient ultra-deep well drilling rigs.

Until now, SOFE has developed four series of characteristic drilling rigs, including fast-moving truck-mounted drilling rigs, fast-moving fast-installing BE drilling rigs, cluster well drilling rigs, and high-clearance and ultra-deep well drilling rigs. The drilling rig product series has been continuously expanded, and Six capabilities has been improved including design, unitization, manufacturing, quality control, testing and service. Multiple sets of ultra-deep well drilling rigs of SOFE have been successfully applied in the northwest, southwest and other regions of China. The maximum completion depth exceeds 8,500 meters, filling the gap in Sinopec's ultra-deep well drilling equipment manufacturing, and providing equipment support for the national ultra-deep well oil and gas resources development.
