​On May 3rd, the 2500 ultra high power cementing truck independently developed by SOFE, has successfully completed the cementing construction of shale gas wells in Weiyuan, Sichuan Province, opening a new cementing era of "small well and large operation" for shale gas exploitation in Sichuan and Chongqing. Compared with the conventional model, the single-unit power of this cementing truck is increased by more than 4 times, the slurry mixing capacity is increased by 76%, and the single-unit power and slurry mixing capacity are the top one in the world, indicating that Research and Development capabilities of SOFE’s cementing equipment have reached the world’s leading level.

Previously, the single-unit power of conventional cementing equipment on the market was only 600 horsepower and the mixing capacity was 2.3 cubic meters per minute, which was difficult to meet the cementing construction environment and performance requirements of domestic shale gas work areas. Foreign manufacturers lack market momentum in the development of high-power vehicle-mounted cementing equipment, and there has been no major breakthrough.

As China accelerates the development of Sichuan-Chongqing shale gas and Xinjiang ultra-deep oil and gas development, the frequency of cementing operations in ultra-deep wells and complex formations is increasing, thus high pressure, large displacement, and long-term uninterrupted operations have become difficulties that cementing operations are facing.

Single-unit single-pump cementing truck, dual-unit dual-pump cementing truck are limited by power, and usually 4-8 conventional cementing trucks are used for simultaneous operation, which is relatively costly. The 2500 ultra-high-power cementing truck is able to complete large-displacement, high-pressure cement injection and slurry replacement operations. While reducing traffic and site safety risks, it can achieve deep and small wells, and complex well cementing operations.

At the end of April, the SOFE 2500 ultra-high-power cementing truck arrived at the end-user’s base, and the service support team composed of R&D engineers and senior technicians immediately cooperated with the user to complete the preparations before going to the well site.
