SOFE Makes Steel Pipe Coating More Environmentally Friendly and Efficient

"Before transformation, the comprehensive utilization rate of powder was about 65%, and more than 120 kg of epoxy powder was cleaned out in a week. Now, the powder utilization rate is more than 80%, and about 10 kilograms of powder are cleaned out every week." Mr. Zheng Ming said, the secretary of SOFE pipeline coating plant. 

This is a big change by the transformation of pipeline coating production line in SOFE. Pipeline coating is to apply a layer of anticorrosive material to the inner and outer walls of oil and gas steel pipes. In the process of production, employees are facing with the influence of noise, heat source, and dust and so on. To enhance environmental protection and efficiency, the company introduced a full set of equipment, the implementation of pipeline coating production line transformation.

The upgrade and transformation of the in-pipe ash blowing and dust removal device was carried out. The air volume of the in-pipe ash blowing and dust removal device was increased from 6,000 cubic meters per hour to 12,000 cubic meters per hour, which realized that there was no dust leakage in the air inlet and the dust concentration in the air outlet was far lower than limit value specified in the OSHA. 

We equipped with new electrostatic spraying system and powder recovery system. The powder system of the electrostatic spraying system adopts the conductive electrostatic powder supply pipe, the high sealing powder pump, the powder supply box of the suction device, to reduce the powder overflow in the feeding and the dust in the environment.

The powder spraying system of the electrostatic spraying system has designed the spraying distance and the spacing of the spray gun to control the power of the epoxy powder. The powder can be sprayed to the surface of the steel pipe in a directional way, forming a good cage- shield effect and improving the powder loading rate.

Powder recovery system according to the design of primary dusting powder recycled system of air volume and wind speed, screening device for the clean powder recovery, increasing the secondary filter dust collector filter area and powder silo ventilation rate, increase the filter pressure difference detection device to control the dust emission concentration, reduce the pollution of the environment and the powder overflow the harm to human body.

The system has reached the national standard explosion-proof requirements, also equipped with dust concentration monitoring device, flame detector, fire extinguishing and alarm device, flameproof device, explosion release device, carbon dioxide fire extinguishing device, realize the combination of dust explosion monitoring and explosion release device, flame detection and automatic fire extinguishing device. The safety of powder construction process is improved comprehensively, and the risk of electrostatic powder spraying process is reduced.

In order to achieve low noise working environment and no risk of occupational disease, SOFE built sound insulation room, and added shock ring and shock pad in the pumping station. The rubber rod with "cross" frame is made on the steel pipe stand to prevent the steel pipe collision and reduce the noise decibel; In addition, the equipment is regularly repaired to reduce the noise caused by faulty operation.
