​SOFE won the tender to build two modularized drilling rigs rated 8000m depth in the early November. And in the middle October, its first 7000m-deep modularized drilling rig to Saudi Arabia just passed the acceptance inspection. 

This customized modularized drilling rig has 8000m drilling depth and 585tons maximum hook load, with drawworks being installed in a low position. It’s equipped with a swing-type substructure.

Among the cementing equipment, fracturing equipment, drilling rig, workover rig, high pressure flow line product that SOFE can provide, its fast moving and fast installation drilling rig, equipment used under arctic weather, cementing equipment with automatic mixing system, and large power fracturing package has designed and built with state-of-the-art technology.

Since SOFE began its R&D in drilling rig area in 1996, it focuses on satisfying engineering demand at all times and insists on development based on its characteristics. It made a great achievement in rig fast-moving fast-installation technologies, high efficient moving among wells technologies, low temperature design and fabrication technologies, and substructure design technologies characterized by high clearance and statically indeterminate structure. It has built the first BE rig and ZJ50DB arctic pad rig in the world, and the first ZJ70D rig with stepping system and ZJ90D rig with large clearance height in China. Its rigs were awarded the title of "China's Famous Products" and exported to nearly ten countries and regions including the USA, Russia, and the Middle East.

SOFE focuses on improving its manufacturing capability and quality control toward large modularized drilling rigs this year and enhances its capability of independent initiation with respect to rig design, fabrication, testing and inspection. SOFE will continue to promote the standardization of drilling rigs and establish a high-quality supply chain to ensure the full life service of drilling rigs.
