Facing drilling engineering challenges such as ultra-high temperature, ultra-high pressure, long horizontal sections, and complex hard-to-drill formations, SOFE has introduced core products like 9,000m automated drilling rigs, 7,000m shale oil automated drilling rig, 3,000hp smart cementing equipment, long-life high-temperature-resistant drill bits and tools, and 140 MPa well control equipment, based on continuous innovation in high-temperature-resistant rubber materials, ultra-hard diamond composite sheets, and statically indeterminate mast structures, . These advancements provide robust equipment support for drilling operations in deep and other complex hard-to-drill formations.

Our drill bits and drilling tools have served more than 85% of wells in the Fuling Block, as well as all wells over 8,000 m deep in the Shunbei and Tarim Blocks. They were also utilized on Shendi‑Take 1, China’s first 10 000‑meter ultra‑deep well. Drill bits and PDMs contributed 36.25% and 100% of the total drilling footage, respectively. During CCTV’s broadcast program “Pushing Forward to 10 000 Meters”, SOFE’s roller‑cone bits and PDC bits were featured in the live show.

Our 7000-meter shale oil automated drilling rigs enable remote ground operation for entire drilling processes and unmanned automatic operation of equipment; Our six 9000-meter ultra-deep well desert drilling rigs had been put into operation simultaneously in Kuwait.

The development of 'one-button' smart cementing control technology enables the intelligent transformation of operational design processes, achieving design-intent-driven autonomous operation with dynamic optimization. This enhances operational efficiency and intrinsic safety, and has been applied in small scale in regions such as Qingcheng, Jingbian, and North America. Additionally, we have established the industry’s first cementing automation efficiency evaluation system, featuring a core Pump-control Autonomy Index (PQI) that achieved a peak value of 99.2% .
